Sudbury Rainbow Crime Stoppers has, over the years, stood out as a leader among the Crime Stoppers Programs.

 

In 2008 Sudbury Rainbow Crime Stoppers' Director Sharon Marunchak was awarded both the Provincial and International awards for Civilian Achievement.

 

On June 2nd, 2008 Sudbury Rainbow Crime Stoppers was once again awarded the Marla Moon Memorial Award of Excellence for their Program for the year 2007 from Pat Gillie, President of the Ontario Association of Crime Stoppers

 

The award was named after Marla Moon who was a member of the original Ontario Advisory Board for Crime Stoppers and died while still serving on the Board. This award is presented yearly to Ontario Crime Stoppers Programs that embody the true meaning of excellence. Programs are judged on a variety of aspects such as Board of Director involvement, community awareness, volunteer hours and media coverage of Program initiatives that were conducted in the previous year as well as the results that were achieved both in public awareness of the Program and in the solving of crimes.

 

 

 

 

In July of 2007, the Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce recognized the 20 years of service that Crime Stoppers has provided to this community.

 

In 2006, a Board member for Sudbury Rainbow Crime Stoppers (Chris Mongeon) was the worthy recipient of the Civilian Achievement Award for Crime Stoppers in the Province of Ontario.

 

In 2005, Sudbury Rainbow Crime Stoppers was awarded the “Productivity Award” for having the greatest percentage increase in arrests of any program by Crime Stoppers International.

In 2005, Sudbury Rainbow Crime Stoppers was awarded the Special Project Award by the Ontario Association of Crime Stoppers.

In 2004, Sudbury Rainbow Crime Stoppers was awarded the Marla Moon Memorial Award of Excellence for their Program, by the Ontario Association of Crime Stoppers.
