The Greater Sudbury Police Service is reminding the general public to be on the lookout for salespersons that arrive in our community selling products and goods. Often the initial contact is made with the consumer via telephone and a follow up appointment is set with the consumer to come to their home at a later date and time to have the product demonstrated.
Ask the salesperson for photo identification before they enter your residence and ask to see a copy of the license issued by the City of Greater Sudbury which gives these salespersons the authority to sell their products within the City of Greater Sudbury.
Remember, never let a salesperson pressure you into making a purchase and do not sign any contract unless you fully understand what you are signing and what your financial obligation is.
If you are in doubt about a product or the company that is being represented, you may contact one of the following:
Ministry of Consumer and Business Services 1-800-889-9768
Phonebusters 1-888-495-8501
If you have any information about any serious crime, please call Crime Stoppers. If your tip leads to an arrest or recovery of property or narcotics
you may be eligible for a cash reward. You will never have to give your name or testify in court and Crime Stoppers doesn’t have call display or call trace. Call Crime Stoppers locally at
