On Saturday, January 9th 2010 a vehicle described as a smaller light colored vehicle turned westbound from the south side Kitchener street to the Kingsway striking the rear drivers side portion of a 2010 Mazda MX3 proceeding westbound on the Kingsway.
The collision caused the Mazda to spin into eastbound traffic. The front passenger side of the Mazda was then stuck by a minivan travelling eastbound in the inside lane. The momentum of the collision then carried the two vehicles into the outside lane, striking a passenger car.
All airbags were deployed and minor injuries were reported. Paramedics attended and cleared everyone at the scene. Further medical treatment was not required.
The vehicle which caused the accident immediately left the scene. It is described as being an older model small passenger vehicle, beige or grey in color, very dirty and not running well. It is reported to have carrieds 3 occupants including the male driver, with one of the passengers wearing a yellow coat and red hat.
Damage to the three vehicles was quite extensive. The vehicle that fled the scene should have damage to the front end.
