The Greater Sudbury Police Service is seeking the public's assistance in obtaining information regarding a domestic violence and aggrivated assault.
In the early morning of February 13th, 2010, Greater Sudbury Police began an investigation regarding an injured three month old child.
As a result, a twenty-one year old Chelmsford man was arrested and charged for Domestic Assault in relation to his common-law partner and also charged with Aggravated Assault, Criminal Negligence Causing Bodily Harm and Failing to Provide the Necessaries of Life in relation to his child.
The three month old child (victim) was transferred to CHEO, Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario in Ottawa. On February 17th, 2010 at approximately 7:00 p.m., the three month old child died as a result of the injuries suffered.
The accused man remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing scheduled for February 19th at the Sudbury court house.
The investigation continues.
