Over the past month, Greater Sudbury Police Service have received numerous complaints of suspicious persons going door to door, originally in Chelmsford and more recently on New Sudbury (Attlee, Carmen and Wedgewood). The door to door solicitors are identifying themselves as surveyors testing the air quality in homes.

There have been no reported incidents of community members being criminally victimized; however, residents are reminded to be vigilant with people going door to door offering any type of service or claiming to represent a particular company.

When any salesperson does a cold call at your residence, always ask for credentials of the company and identification from the sales person.

Unless you have called for a specific service provider, feel free to tell the individual(s) you are not interested in the services they are offering. You are also encouraged to call police when you observe suspicious activity in your neighbourhood.

Any description of the person(s) involved and details on the vehicles they are using would be beneficial to the investigators.
