In recognition of National Hospice Week WarmHearts Palliative Caregivers  celebrated its 7th Annual Gala on Saturday, October 25th, 2008 at the Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel with the theme "Salute to Unsung Heros".

Deputy Chief Frank Elsner of the Greater Sudbury Police Service was this year's Honorary Chair. 

"WarmHearts volunteers compliment the important work of this city's police, emergency, medical and fire services personnel," noted Deputy Cheif Elsner.  "They provide compassionate bedside support to terminally ill individuals; they offer caregiver respite; they offer grief and bereavement support to family members.  These dedicated volunteers are truly this community's Unsung Heros."
