Sudbury Rainbow Crime Stoppers in partnership with KICX 91.7 held the "Race Against Crime" Night at the Races fundraiser at Sudbury Downs on Saturday, October 2nd, 2010.
Ticket holders enjoyed a Prime Rib buffet in the Mardi Gras Dining Lounge, free Program, an optional gaming package and had a chance to go home with one of many prizes.
As part of the exciting harness racing that took place on October 2nd Sudbury Downs also featured the “City of Greater Sudbury Pace” with a $75,000 prize purse to be won. This was the largest prize purse to be offered in Sudbury Downs history and a very exciting race. The winner of this race was Part Shark who won in a record breaking time of 1:52.4 beating the old track record of 1:54.1.
The event also included a 50/50 draw with the luck winner being Gilles Lachapelle.
As a result of the support provided by the race sponsors and individuals who came out for a wonderful fun-filled night of live harness racing, Sudbury Rainbow Crime Stoppers was able to exceed their fundraising goal for the event. Without your support we would be unable to provide a valuable service to our community to help keep it safe.
A special thank you goes out to the staff at Sudbury Downs for their much appreciated assistance and support.
