Sudbury Rainbow Crime Stoppers joined Crime Stoppers around the world in celebrating Crime Stoppers Month in January 2010.

Mayor John Rodriguez kicked off Crime Stoppers Month in our community with a Proclamation on January 6th, 2010.

Mr. Marc Bidal, President of Sudbury Rainbow Crime Stoppers highlighted the accomplishments of Crime Stoppers by announcing that the local organization had recovered over $43.7 million in stolen property and drugs; almost $1.5 million in 2009 alone.  Sudbury Rainbow Crime Stoppers over the years has approved over $450,000 in rewards.

A number of dignitaries were present including Hon. Rick Bartolucci – MPP Sudbury, Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services, Glenn Thibeault - MP Sudbury, Chief Frank Elsner - Greater Sudbury Police Service, Chief Superintendent Scott Tod - OPP, Deputy Chief Al Lekun, Dr. Koka - Chair, Greater Sudbury Police Services Board, Alex Williamson - President, Ontario Association of Crime Stoppers, Inspector Jack Gibbs - OPP, Inspector Sheilah Weber - Greater Sudbury Police Services, Detective Sergeant Dave Lalonde - OPP, Monica Harris - OPP Provincial Crime Stoppers Coordinator and various members of the police services.
